The same tree carries a different price at each point in its journey, and two sellers in the same forest can be in different markets. Both dimensions are kept separate here rather than averaged into one number — see what a market tier is and how a tree becomes four different prices.

Every figure above is an aggregate of published rows from the bodies below. Weights are each source’s share of the observations behind that row.

How to read this page

• The band, not the median. P10 and P90 are the tenth and ninetieth percentiles of the contributing rows. This range can include different dimensions, grades and drying conditions. It does not establish a fair price for an individual piece; compare its specification and sale terms with the underlying evidence.
• Ex VAT, delivered-equivalent. Prices arrive on different transport terms and are converted to a common basis before aggregation. The conversions are written out in the normalization reference.
• Observation and sale dates. The headline segment includes at least one stated sale date. Its latest observation and most recent stated sale are shown separately above; they can differ.
• This is a reference, not a quote. It cannot price an individual log, which depends on diameter, grade, defect and who is buying.
